Nurses

Amie Greetham

Amie started in veterinary nursing in 1995 and became qualified in 2000. She joined Burghley in April 2005, becoming Head Nurse in 2009.

At work her main interests are in emergency and critical care. She also enjoy the interaction with both clients and their pets.

Outside of the surgery mAmie's partner runs a farm so she is always helping out with feeding the cows and sheep. Amie enjoy spending time with my daughter Harriet and son Joe who make sure she's always busy!

Amie also likes to travel and spent a year in 2002 in Australia working at the Australia Zoo with Steve Irwin which she enjoyed immensely. Amie reports that he was a great guy and just as much fun off camera as on. She also spent two weeks in Greece working for a small charity catching and neutering cats.

Hannah Parrott

Hannah qualified in 1996 whilst in her first stint at Burghley. She left Burghley to go and work at Towcester vets and whilst there she won the pet health counsellor of the year in 1999. Hannah rejoined Burghley in 2004.

At the surgery the main things she enjoys are nutrition, pet health counseling and running puppy parties.

At home Hannah loves to spend time with her husband and son Charlie, going to various toddler groups. Hannah has a black labrador called Obi and her cats called Maggie and Munchkin. She likes shopping for handbags, going dancing and walking Obi. Hannah has also traveled extensively and has spent time traveling across Australia and Africa.

Hannah Kinkade

Hannah started at Burghley in November 2003 and qualified as a veterinary nurse in March 2007. Whilst at work she enjoys the neo-natal care, anaesthetics and the exotic animals we are now getting at the surgery.

When not at work Hannah spends time with her two children Sophie & Lottie. She also likes socializing with friends and colleagues and taking her 3 dogs, Baily, Isabella and Harvey for long country walks. Hannah also has a Bengal cat called Mac and an axoloti (which is a reptile a bit like a salamander) called Marvin.

Helen Connor

Helen has been a qualified Nurse since 2004, but has been nursing since 1998. In addition to her nursing qualifications, Helen is an A1 assessor, so she gets to help trainee nurses in their studies. Helen has also been a liaison officer at Wood Green Animal Shelters.

Outside of work Helen likes to relax with her husband Steve and their collies.

Rachael Evans

Rachael has been at Burghly since 2005.

Her main interests in nursing are radiography and orthopaedics; Rachael feels it is very rewarding knowing that you have helped in repairing a fractured limb.

Outside of work Rachael enjoys running and spending time with her husband Mark and son Jensen. She has a Golden Retriever called Oscar who she got from the Three Counties Dog Rescue, and a cat called Pete.

Laura Cross

Laura joined Burghley Veterinary Centre in 2007. She really enjoys helping all our clients and looking after the inpatients that we have. Laura loves spending her time nursing an animal back to health and seeing them go home with a waggy tail. Laura has recently completed a behaviour course, which was on preventative action for cats and dogs, Laura also runs our puppy parties.

At home she has a Staffordshire Bull terrier called Axle who she enjoys taking for long walks over the fields. She also enjoys travel and spending time with her niece and nephew.

Katie Davey

Katie started working at Burghley Veterinary Centre in February 2008 after doing work experience at the practice. Katie has completed the ANA course and is now nearing the end of her training to become a qualified veterinary nurse. She enjoys looking after the inpatients and helping with the nurse appointments and running our puppy parties.

At home Katie has a Springer spaniel called Tramp that she took on from Three Counties Dog Rescue, a cat called Fudge and a rabbit called Honey that came into the vets as a stray. Katie enjoys taking tramp for long walks and photography.

Rachel Howard

Rachel has been at Burghley Veterinary Centre since May 2009. Whilst being here she has learnt many more skills and techniques. Rachel has been nursing for four years and she is currently in the middle of training. Her personal highlights are nursing ill/sick animals back to good health. Rachel's personal interests of the job are Radiography, Physiotherapy and emergency and critical care.

Rachel enjoys socialising with friends and work colleagues in her spare time as well as traveling with her partner Carl and going to see comedy acts.

Rachel has a 15 year old cat at home called Benny - he is very cute and lovely.

Sophie Hyndman

Sophie became a member of Burghley Veterinary Centre in September 2009. She is currently in the middle of doing her pre nursing ANA course, when this course is complete she will then go onto her first year of veterinary nursing.

Sophie loves coming into work in the morning to see what different types of animals and surgery she has to help with during the day. Sophie likes the fact that each day is different and that’s what makes the job so exciting. She feels that the best part of the job is nursing an animal better and seeing them happy again.

She has two horses, two dogs and a cat (which was a stray brought into the surgery) at home, so she's always surrounded by the furry four legged friends!

In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her friends and family, horse riding and experimenting with fashion.

Bonnie Cartwright

Bonnie joined Burghley part time in December 2009. She has been a qualified Veterinary Nurse for over 10 years and also has a degree in Applied Animal Science from Cedar Valley College, Texas.

Outside of work Bonnie likes to spend time with her husband and son William traveling back to the States to see her family. She enjoy all aspects of veterinary nursing thrives on being busy.
